Oby Ezekwesili

Obiageli “Oby” Ezekwesili is a renowned Nigerian economic policy expert and reform advocate.

 

She served as Nigeria’s Minister of Solid Minerals (2005–2006) and later as Minister of Education (2006–2007), where she pushed for transparency and institutional reform. Earlier, she led the Budget Monitoring and Price Intelligence Unit, laying the foundation for Nigeria’s Bureau of Public Procurement.

 

A co-founder of Transparency International, Ezekwesili also contested in the 2019 presidential election and is a leading voice in governance, political reform, and citizen empowerment in Nigeria.

Ebun Aleshinloye

Ebun Aleshinloye is an artist, editorial cartoonist and satirist.

 

His work has appeared in many publications including The Guardian, West Africa Magazine (U.K.), ThisWeek, Vanguard, The Anchor and The Cartoonist, and is a trustee of the Cartoonists Association of Nigeria (CARTAN).

 

He has also worked as a communications specialist and technical adviser for several international development agencies.

 

He studied Fine Arts at the University of Ife and has a Master of Arts degree in Electronic Graphics from Coventry Polytechnic, U.K. He publishes Drawings & Notes by Alesh, a subscription newsletter

Dr. Dele Jegede

Dele Jegede is a Nigerian-American painter, art historian, cartoonist, curator, art critic, art administrator, and teacher.

 

Jegede was a Senior Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC.

 

He taught at Spelman College, Atlanta as Visiting Fulbright Scholar, when he curated the exhibition, Art By Metamorphosis.

 

Listed in Kelly and Stanley’s “Nigerian Artists: A Who’s Who & Bibliography,” Jegede was Professor and Chair of the Department of Art, Indiana State University, Terre Haute and Professor of Art at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He retired as Professor Emeritus in May 2015.


Jegede is recipient of the Distinguished Africanist Award of the University of Texas.
